- Transient Signaling: Our servers function only as a "signaling" mechanism to help devices find each other. Once a connection is established, our servers are no longer involved in the media transmission.
2. Information We Collect
Due to our anonymous nature, data collection is strictly minimal:
- Connection Data: To establish P2P connections, we temporarily process technical data like IP addresses and ICE candidates. This data is not retained after the connection is handed off.
- Usage Metrics: We may collect aggregate, non-identifiable statistics (e.g., number of active users) to monitor system health.
- Cookies: We use minimal local storage only to save your user preferences (such as theme or camera settings). We do not use cookies for tracking or advertising.
3. Security and Encryption
Your security is paramount. Namaste employs industry-standard encryption protocols:
- End-to-End Encryption: All video and audio streams are encrypted using DTLS (Datagram Transport Layer Security) and SRTP (Secure Real-time Transport Protocol). This means no one, including Namaste, can intercept your calls.
- STUN/TURN Servers: We use STUN servers to resolve network paths. In restricted networks, encrypted traffic may pass through a TURN relay server, but the relay server cannot decrypt or view the content of the stream.
4. Age Restrictions and Safety
Age Requirement: You must be at least 16 years of age to use Namaste independently.
Parental Guidance: If you are under the age of 16, you are permitted to use this service only under the direct supervision of a parent or legal guardian. By accessing Namaste, you represent and warrant that you meet these age requirements or have obtained necessary parental consent.
We have zero tolerance for:
- Illegal content or activity.
- Harassment, bullying, or hate speech.
- Nudity or sexually explicit behavior.
While we cannot monitor P2P streams directly, users found violating these policies through reports may be banned based on their IP address.
5. Cyber Law Compliance (GDPR)
We respect your rights under global privacy laws, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
- Right to Access/Delete: Since we do not store user accounts or chat history, we do not hold personal data to request or delete. Your chat data disappears the moment you disconnect.
- Do Not Track: We do not track your browsing history across other websites.
